Just a few weeks ago, we donated 10 photobooks to 10 separate City of Toronto Long-Term Care homes! Similar to the one donated to Fudger House back when Art with Heart first started, each photobook will be used by volunteers with the residents.
Fudger House has since used our original photobook to spark conversations between volunteers and residents, as a means of an icebreaker, and to learn more about each other. They have been extremely helpful in strengthening volunteer/resident relationships, and making new friends. We hope that other photobooks will also accomplish the same task, and be enjoyed by everyone for years to come.
We received a thank-you card on behalf of the coordinators and volunteers from the 10 homes. They loved the combination of the photos and words in the photobooks, and expressed that it will be a perfect tool for starting conversation.
"You made our day- and better, your book will make our volunteers & residents' days for years to come!"
We don't always receive feedback from the places we've visited or donated to, but times like this remind us why we do what we do. We are so happy to be making a positive impact in our community, and that our photobooks will be used in the future. And on that note, stay tuned; future projects are inbound!
